Signed Pottery Vase by Roger Guerin

About the Item

Pottery vase by Roger Guerin (1896-1954), hand-made circa 1920s. Belgium's most renowned studio potter, Guerin is best known for his magnificent glaze effects. Interesting matte drip glazed finish in cobalt, various browns and creams with elegant proportions. Hand-signed "Guerin 65/55" on the base. Guerin opened his own workshop in 1918. He exhibited his work in Paris during the 1930s and was a member of the Société des Grès d'Art de Bouffioulx.
