Arts and Crafts PAIR of Vases or Bookends Inlaid Oak, Circa 1890

About the Item

These are an unusual and distinctive pair of hand made oak vases or book ends made during the Arts & Crafts period of the late 19th century, circa 1890. They have been carefully hand made with an emphasis on design, with an emphasis on the Arts and Crafts period. They each have two hollow angled sections with inlaid detail, supported on a plinth base section. Each plinth base has a narrow angled raised section attached to it. The angled hollow sections are about 10.5 inches deep. These are very decorative items which exemplify the Arts & Crafts style and could be used as vases, singly or as a pair OR they could be used as a pair of Book Ends with the images showing both uses illustrated. The oak has developed a soft rich color and patina through use and polishing. We think this piece is unique , being individually handmade by a joiner or carpenter.
