Martin Brothers Lily of the Valley Stoneware Art Pottery Vase, 19th Century



A Martin Brothers stoneware art pottery vase decorated with Lilies of the Valley and decorated in brown, blue and white glazes dating from the latter 19th century. The conical flask shaped bottle vase stands on a wide rounded foot with a patterned foot rim in blue glazes. The vase has a tall trumpet shaped neck with incised flowering lily of the valley flowers to either side of the body the bell shaped flowers in white and the stems and leaves in brown on a brown salt glazed ground. The vase has incised marks Martin London to the base. Offered in good condition. Provenance: acquired from an extensive private Martin Brothers pottery collection. From the private collection of Belgium based Gentleman collector of British Art Pottery.
