About

Large contemporary Japanese Imari decorative vase, hand-painted on a beautifully shaped Arita Fine porcelain body, a signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed award-winning master porcelain artist in polychrome overglazed enameling. Inspired by nature, the artist creates a dramatic landscape on porcelain with flowers coming alive. His painstaking “drip painting” technique is designed to bring a subtly raised, three-dimensional feel to motifs that are expressed in bold vibrant colors with flowers coming alive. His profile is available upon request. He has perfected the polychrome overglaze technique to create porcelain pieces with stunning colors. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for his extraordinary porcelain work and contributions to this centuries old art. The artist's signature style is a refreshing interpretation of traditional polychrome overglaze enameling techniques and motifs decorating porcelain over clear glaze. The large vase depicts striking delicate maple leaves in different hues of orange, green and gold, with rivers streaming through fields where deer play. All of this is set against a pure white background, characteristic of fine Arita porcelain. Intricate geometric patterns decorate the rim and base of this elegantly shaped ovoid vase. This striking hand-painted porcelain vase comes in a custom-made wooden box signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 14.5 in D 12 in.
