Large Japanese Ovoid Porcelain Vase with Blue & White Landscape, by Shigan 芝岩

About the Item

Very large ovoid shaped porcelain vase with a beautiful blue and white mountainscape design accentuated by a low relief details. The top of the vase ends in an elegant small neck. Your eyes first fall on a cosy house with a gabled roof on the edge of a mountain. From the house you have a stunning broad view over a large river flowing at the foot of more high mountains. In the distance two boats can be seen with a flight of birds above the sails. From the highest mountain in the middle a large waterfall flows into the same river. The vase is signed 'Shigan'. When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity. Price including insured shipping.

    Wear consistent with age and use. In the field next to the house an approx. 6 cm thin brown line . Craquelé on the lower part of the vase. See pictures. Other than these small imperfections, the vase is in perfect condition.
