US$435.76per item

About

I Giunchi vase by Biancodichina Dimensions: 6 x H 30cm. Materials: Limoges porcelain, glaze. Technique: Slab building technique. Each element of the decoration is modeled by hand and composed to create a vibrant and organic effect. First fire 890 degrees. Second fire 1280 degrees. The outer surface of bisque porcelain is carefully sanded for a long time to obtain a smooth and silky feel to the touch. Inside, the transparent glaze ensures cleaning and maintenance. Also available in sets of three pieces. Please contact us for more info. Biancodichina is a contemporary ceramic studio founded by Alice Reina in 2015. Her work is inspired by the plastic properties of raw porcelain and it is drove by the curiosity to manipulate the material to its limits until reaching unexpected results. She creates objects whose shapes, transparency or surfaces finish makes us doubt their consistency or even about the materials they are made of. Her process of making is based on the use of thin sheets of porcelain or liquid porcelain; they allow her to create organic objects and detailed textures, always different. During the working process, Alice accepts, rather enhances, the anarchic nature of the material obtaining unpredictable outcomes. Her objects are characterized by fine forms that grow on the silky surface of the biscuit porcelain. The color, when there is, is obtained by natural pigments directly added to raw porcelain, later mixed and shaped into final objects. This is a long process that allows making unique and precious objects.

About the Maker

Galerie Philia Furniture

Galerie Philia is a recognized contemporary design and modern fine arts gallery representing world wide known designers and artists. The Galerie Philia exhibits a collection resulting from a rhizomatic research transcending formal, stylistic, national or historical barriers. The selected art works emanates from different cultures and periods, are incarnated in various and multiform mediums, and evoke multiple and changing interior worlds. The only criterion unifying this composite plurality is their esthetical qualities and the sense they convey. The Galerie Philia attempts in this way to build bridges between different artistic continents in order to enlighten art works endowed with a marked artistic depth.
