Empire Period Paris Porcelain Antique Painted Vase

About the Item

Of conical shape with retracted neck and griffin handles, the 'fond lapis' parcel-gilt and painted surface depicting on one side a colourful scene with children and on the other a bouquet of flowers, with a cobalt blue ground with gold leaf borders and trophy motifs. This exquisite Empire period vase is notable for its deep blue background, which is beautifully offset by its surrounding gold gilt detailing.
