About
An exceptional Doulton Lambeth floral design art pottery vase by Elizabeth Small, Nellie Garbett and Florence Hunt dated 1883. The elegant shaped stoneware vase has a rounded bulbous body standing on a narrow rounded foot with a narrow neck and large trumpet shaped top. The body of the vase is decorated with brown slip painted floral panels on a salt glazed stipple ground set within a blue scrolling foliage surround with angled leaf panels to the neck and set within a salt glazed ground with fine white slip floral detail. The vase has an impressed Doulton Lambeth mark to the base along with monogram for Elizabeth M Small and marks for Florence Hunt and Nellie Garbett. The vase is also dated 1883.
An exceptional example offered in excellent condition.
