Darte Frères Pair of Bough Pots, Hand Painted-Paris, France

US$850per set

About

Pair of hand painted small bough pots by Darte Frères Paris, France. The tops have everted rims while the body with lion's paw feet rest on a square base. The side handles are lion's heads. There is slight ware to the burnished gold due to the age of the porcelain (1810-20). One of the tops has been replaced with an identical top from the same company, but a slightly different size. The tops have two porcelain teeth that lock the top to the body. One of the tops is missing one of its teeth (see photo).
