Anzolo Fuga Rare "Bandiere Vase", 1955-1956

Rare and important hand blown glass “Bandiere Vase” model 13471 by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano, Italy, 1955-1956. Etched on bottom “COL Luciano Ferro 1952”. Luciano Ferro was Fuga’s primary glass blower who executed most of his works. After Luciano passed away in 1972 Ada Ferro, his older sister and owner of the glasshouse, had some of the pieces in his personal collection posthumously inscribed like this, some with the incorrect year of production. This piece was blown in the 1955-1956 period. The Bandiere series was one of Fuga’s first series designed for A.V.E.M. and the glassblowers came up with the name “Bandiere” which means flag.
