Alf Wallander Pair of Fish Vases

US$2,800

About

Alf Wallander was a Swedish ceramicist that was a painter at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in the late 19th century. His symbolist work was first introduced by Wallander’s friend Oscar Björck which influenced his painting style greatly when he began working with ceramics. A Pioneer of Swedish Art Nouveau for over ten years, Wallander was also influenced by the British Arts & Crafts movement. This pair of vases adorned with fish and spirals is a distinct design that is synonymous with the Classic Wallander look during the height of his career.
