About the Item

From Minton, a wonderful and extremely scarce majolica glazed Aubergine eggplant vase, dated 1875. An example of the Japonisme Aesthetic so desirable in the mid-19th century. The interior shows the same rich green glazing as the base. Pattern number ‘1391’. Marked Mintons, with the date code of 1875, and with the impressed mold number 1391. 6.5 in. diameter at the widest point x 8.5 in. height. A top opening of 3 inches.
