About

Monumental and unique one of a kind piece by Wendelin Stahl (1922-2000), circa 1965. This really is a museum piece - Standing at 61.5cm (24 inches) tall, this is an exceptional and large piece of art pottery by master potter Wendelin Stahl. Originally produced to be a floor lamp, there are no lamp fittings attached, but this looks, perhaps, even better as a stand alone vessel. Beautiful cobalt blue crystalline glaze over a dark grey / anthracite base. Stunning form / shape from a wide base to a narrow, pencil neck. Wendelin Stahl was an incredible artist and his work is very collectible and rare. We have never seen an example in such a large size and this piece came from an important and large collection of pottery in the North of Germany.
