Italian Pair of Smaller-Sized Carved Wood Urn-Shaped Candleholders
About the Item
An Italian pair of smaller sized carved-wood candleholders from the early 19th century. These antique candleholders from Italy feature hand carved urn-shaped fragments with floral embellishments, petal leaf upper lips, and handles which give the appearance of knotted fabric. Though they make lovely decorative objects as they are, each top can hold a single candle. The pieces are raised upon square shaped bases. Note that the backsides are not fully carved, making these decorative pieces best used with their backs to wall. This pair of early 19th century carved floral urn fragments from Italy have a fabulous old patina, with lovely chippy bits, and remnants of old paint.
