Charles II Lead Bronze Mortar, by ‘Anthony Bartlet’, English, Whitechapel, London, dated 1668. The deep rim Mortar cast with interlaced crosses beneath the lip, the body further cast with scrolling cross design and dated 1668. With contemporary pestle. See: Micahael Finlay "English Decorated Mortars and Their Makers" 2010, p69, Fig 94, for a similar Mortar, Dated 1669. Anthony Bartlet's foundry was in Whitechapel, London from 1640-1675.
