Large Southwestern Pottery Four-Color Jar with Heartline Deer Motif

About

This large earthenware olla was built by hand and exquisitely painted in slip glazes in a Classic Zuni design including heartline deer in red and black against a ivory background. Although this is very well crafted and consistent with 19th century pottery from Zuni Pueblo, there are a few small nuances that preclude a firm authentication as 19th century/Native American/Zuni Pueblo and it is being sold as a decorative object at a substantially reduced price.
