About the Item
MAM Collection
Place of origin: Department of Huehuetenango, Guatemala
Collection of jars made of red clay. They have traditionally been used to carry water.
Made by three sisters, Maya Mam, who have worked together for decades in a community in the Department of Huehuetenango in Guatemala.
The designs are identical to those recorded by Edmund Faubert in the same place in the 70's.
Each piece is unique and unrepeatable, handmade with the churros technique, smoothed with jícara, cooked over an open fire.
Available in 4 different sizes.
Some pieces receive an external treatment with 100% natural oil, with a transparent tone or brown or black pigment, which changes the appearance of the ceramic.
