Venus by Botticelli Lage Bronze Sculpture

About the Item

This sculpture depicts the goddess Venus, having emerged from the sea as a fully grown woman, arriving at the sea-shore. It dates from the last quarter of the 20th century. This reproduces the Venus depicted in the Italian Renaissance painting by Botticelli. This bronze was made by the traditional lost wax process. Condition: In excellent condition, please see photos for confirmation of condition. In industrial uses, the modern process is called investment casting. An ancient practice, the process today varies from foundry to foundry, but the steps which are usually used in casting small bronze sculptures in a modern bronze foundry are generally quite standardised.
