Forged sculpture "Birth" from the sculpture series "Family". In a strong contrast of emotion and material, German blacksmith and professor for metal arts in Sweden, Heiner Zimmermann illustrates the deep connection and love between mother and baby, captured in the durable and strong material steel. The long foot of the sculpture expresses the growth of affection, familiarity and sense of belonging as well as the journey prior to and throughout the pregnancy an of the protagonists so far. This collectible and extendable sculpture series is carefully crafted by Prof. Heiner Zimmermann, German blacksmith in 3rd generation with hammer and anvil. Each sculpture thus becomes unique and represents its own character. The series involves sculptures from encounter, birth, growing family, to death, this representing the circle of life.
