About

Bronze vide poche or decorative dish sculpted and cast by Max Le Verrier, this example has an intentional "antiqued" appearance, inspired by ancient Greek coinage. Beautiful green and gold hues. This item was created by Le Verrier in memory of Anne de Bretagne. Le Verrier opened his own studio in 1919 and won a medal at the famed 1925 Exposition in Paris that gave "Art Deco" its name. Later, he established a foundry that cast bronze sculptures for Pierre Le Faguays and Marcel Bourain, among others.
