Malgorzata Jablonska Mask 9 Sculpture, 2019

Contemporary Polish artist Malgorzata Jablonska's mask 9 sculpture is a life-size man's face made of textile, repetitive flowers in blue. The natural casting served as a form for embossing the work and showing the complexity of the structure built of small elements. Scattered flowers thicken to form a spacious face. A single flower is a symbol of beliefs, views, habits, blockades, barriers, opinions, visions, judgments, beliefs, views, problems, difficulties, burdens, ballasts, emotional burdens, limitations or opposites, not belonging to the owner - passed on to him or her by others. The face has a calm expression and closed eyes - steps necessary for internal development comes from Jablonska's vision, as she quoted "Close your eyes to see yourself better". Dark blue - the color of the cosmos above our heads, also represents the inner cosmos of each of us. The sculpture is enclosed between two pieces of plexiglass connected by four short metal rods. All works are accompanied with a “Certificate of Authenticity” and/or signed by the artist. Artist's Short Bio: Jablonska, born in the late 1960s in Warsaw, grew up in a communist country. Which was a period of validity in accidental adult life during the political transformation in Poland in 1989. In 1993, studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, she took part in the "Ideas Beyond Ideology" an exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Art at the Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, which was the first exhibition representing critics in Poland. Jablonska uses the human form - the most recognizable shape on earth, and at the same time adds color as an integral semantic form. Her spatial works concern humans as a being composed of many internal layers. Physical bodies of light materials (banana bark, silk, organza) are fragile-elastic coatings for countless internal levels of human existence, a shield for something deeper, more powerful than matter, an immeasurable and elusive spirit.
