Japanese Meiji Gilt Bronze Figure of Oni Holding a Lotus Flower
About the Item
Japanese Meiji period finely cast, patinated and partially gilded figure of Oni holding a lotus flower. Very fine and detailed decoration. No signature located. The figure is 17 1/2" x 10" x 9 3/4". The figure itself is in excellent condition, but the flower was detached and re-attached.
Oni is demon or troll, widely present in Japanese folklore.
