A striking Italian 19th century white Carrara marble statue of a young boy sitting next to a tree trunk signed Professore Eumene Baratta Roma, 1861. The statue is raised by a circular base with a fine mottled border and a wonderfully executed rock like ground design. The charming young boy is sat next to a tree stump and carefully holds a bird's nest with two birds in his hand. He is draped in a finely sculpted cloth and displays wonderful attention to detail throughout.
