French Bronze "Hephaestus" Blacksmith Sculpture by Maurice Constant



Circa 1920s bronze sculpture by Maurice Constant (France 1892-1970). Likely, a depiction of a young Hephaestus / Vulcan, the blacksmith god of fire and forge, surrounded by his signature tools: hammer, anvil, and tongs. Signed "M Constant Made in France." Additionally retains the inscribed plaque: "Le Travail par Maurice Constant Mention au Salon." Rich patina / minor wear consistent with age. Overall, in fine, vintage condition. H 7.75" x Diameter 3"
