19th Century English Chelsea Style Porcelain Figurine, Pair

About

Charming pair of very intricate figurines of barefoot young girls, one gathering a basket of fruit and the other flowers. Only one is marked (with the gold anchor.) The colors are very brilliant and the details are incredible. "Gold Anchor is traditionally associated with The Chelsea Factory during the 1760s, this mark remained in use during the Chelsea Derby period following the take-over of The Chelsea Factory by Derby, circa 1770. Originally thought to have been restricted to the very early years of the Chelsea Derby period, the research of Society President Sir Stephen Mitchell now suggests the mark may have continued in use right through to the closure of The Chelsea Factory in 1783".
