Ceramic hippo sculpture by California artist, Hal Fromhold. Signed.
Hal Fromhold was born in England and immigrated to Canada in his early 1930s. He then moved to Southern California. After graduating college, he taught for a short time and then opened a ceramic studio in Los Angeles. His work was exhibited widely, including at the seminal California Design exhibitions at the Pasadena Art Museum.
