Excellent quality late 19th century French bronze Animalier study of a standing stag, with excellent hand chased surface detail and rich brown patina, raised on a naturalistic oval base and signed Pautrot. Ferdinand Pautrot ~ French, 1832 to 1874 - A talented and respected animalier sculptor, Pautrot specialised in hunting scenes, depicting dogs, rabbits and birds. He exhibited at the Salon from 1861-1870.
