Early 20th Century French Art Deco Craquelé or Crackle Ceramic Squirrel A.M.C

US$1,500

About

The clean geometric design of this lovely animal makes it very special. Look at the lines of his curled up tail and the way he holds and eats a little nut. I obviously couldn't resist buying it. Beautifully crackled glaze and hallmarked on the bottom. Designed and made in the faience factory of Auguste Mouzin in Wasmul, Belgium. They mostly made ornamental ware in Art Deco style from 1878 until 1951. AMC stands for Auguste Mouzin et Cie.
