About

The painted cast resin column is composed of four independent cubes anchored by a central pole and marble base. The cubes can be aligned or rotated on the pole to distort the column and emphasize their individual forms. Each piece from the limited edition of 9 is signed, numbered and dated. Dimensions: 29" height x 11" width x 11" depth.   All of our sales are final, no refunds, no exchanges and no returns no exceptions. About the artist Tanya Ragir was born and raised in Los Angeles. From an early age she pursued very seriously studies in modern dance, jazz and ballet, as well as figurative visual art. Her extensive dance background was and continues to be a major influence in her art practice. After graduating, from UC Santa Cruz in 1976 with a B.A. in Art and Dance, Ragir began working in the commercial mannequin industry as a figure sculptor and eventually founded her own mannequin business. While excelling in a career as a mannequin sculptor, she simultaneously maintained a fine art practice. Ragir’s sculptural work is now internationally collected and resides in permanent museum collections as well as private collections. Her artwork has ranged from classical to avant-garde, always evolving and morphing in response to the climactic events of her life. The human form is a constant presence in her work, as is movement. Different bodies of work explore the expansion of energy in different directions, both internal and external, personal and allegorical. Tanya Ragir currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
