Pair of Cast Bronze Bookends by Artist Vincent Pocsik

US$700per item

About

Pair of cast bronze bookends by artist Vincent Pocsik in collaboration with Lawson-Fenning. Made of natural materials, this decorative object can be accessorized on tabletop, book shelf, or desk to achieve an organic modern style. Vincent Pocsik is a Los Angeles based artist who’s primary focus is on sculptural furniture. His work strives to find the balance between old and new fabrication techniques working in conjunction to find an anatomical form that creates its own presence. Each work is either made inside his shop in Los Angeles or in conjunction with local craftspeople. A note from the artist regarding these bookends: Inspired by the simplicity of Japanese design and the beauty of decay. My obsession with decay is based on finding different expressions of beauty. I love the way a material wears down slowly overtime. In this particular instance i was looking at decay by way of fire. I wanted to capture the moment of something that has been melted and then solidified into its new form. This intense moment is then balanced by a simple form with pleasant proportions.
