Alberto Vargas Steel, Marble and Alabaster Sculpture

About the Item

An interesting polished steel, black marble and white alabaster abstract sculpture by Mexican artist Alberto Vargas named "El Jardín Perfumado. Desnudos Abundantes y Besos Dobles" (The Scented Garden. Abundant Nudes and Double Kisses). The sculpture's title is inspired by a short story by Mexican writer Alberto Ruy Sánchez named "Ese Malentendido que me Quema" (This Misunderstanding That Burns Me). The piece has no signature, but has been certified by the artist. Alberto Vargas was born in Monterrey, Mexico in 1958. Trained as an architecture and got degree in Fine Arts at the University of Texas in Austin. His work is currently focused on the relation between architecture, sculpture and landscape. He is represented by Galería de Arte Mexicano in Mexico City, Galería Arte Actual in Monterrey and Galerie Wegner in Paris.
