Danese Milano Galapagos Large Frame by Bruno Munari

About the Item

Galapagos is a picture frame made of two square sheets of ultrawhite glass, held together and supported by satin finish stainless steel elements. The frame is distinctive because although it has clean lines and a formal shape it does not actually have a solid frame. Bruno Munari was one of the most important Italian architects, artists and designers of the 20th Century. Born in Milan in 1907 he started his artistic work very young during the Futurist period and dedicated himself to painting, graphic design, film making, poetry an writing. His work is characterized by its strong educative nature, which stems from his passionate interest in using play to develop creativity in children. In the last years of his life he concentrated more and more on the problem of visual and artistic education organizing and participating in courses, seminars and activities for children, adults and teachers. After more than half a century his creations live on to this day in his collections for Danese Milano.
