An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver and frosted glass match striker; an addition to our ornamental collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian glass sterling match striker, with sterling silver mount, has a globular form.
The surface of the frosted glass body has a textured finish which composes a match striker and incorporating the impressive applied monogram initials 'CIL'.
The upper portion of this antique glass match striker retains the original, plain hallmarked sterling silver mount.
The mount bears the retailer's mark 'A. Barrett & Sons, 63 & 64 Piccadilly'.
By virtue of its size and weight, this versatile match striker could be utilised as a paperweight.
Condition
This antique Victorian glass match striker mount is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The glass body is in perfect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount are very clear.
