Gilded Austrian Bronze Inkwell / Pen Rest, Signed Bergmann



A magnificent and grand late Victorian Austrian desk set, made from cast bronze, beautifully finished in gold. The cast Owl is a figural inkwell with a hinged lid revealing a glass ink chamber within. This is attached to a beautifully executed large feather acting as a pen tray. The Bergmann signature can be found on the Owl's feathers and the Bergmann logo to the underside of the feather tray. Both pieces also marked "Geschutz" (trademark). Dating to circa 1900, it remains in superb condition measuring 15" in length x 3" x 6" tall. Item ID: 40629 Free worldwide registered airmail directly from London, England.
