French antique golden gilt bronze cartel clock by Autray Fils, Paris

This stunning French Cartel clock was crafted by renowned clock makers Autray Fils, in Paris. Founded in the early 18th century, the firm of Autray Fils quickly established a reputation for producing high quality, beautiful timekeeping devices, including mantel clocks, Cartel clocks, pocket watches and larger clock sets. Each work produced by the firm was crafted with great attention to detail, meaning that the Autray Fils clocks remain as impressive today as when they were first produced.
The circular enamel dial signed 'Autray Paris', set within an unusually designed circular ormolu case with circular roundel above depicting a relief of two cherubs and an ormolu hanging in the form of a velvet support and surmounted by a bow, the reverse stamped with '1853' and 'CA'.
