French Restauration Period Eagle Clock

About the Item

A French restauration period mantle clock having a large patinated bronze eagle with outstretched wings standing on a wreath on top of the clock. The stepped square patinated bronze base is richly decorated in gilded bronze; the gilded snake bezel encases a silver dial with Roman numerals. The original silk string movement rings the hours and halfs on a bell. Made in France, circa 1825.
