French Clock Garniture de Cheminee by Etienne Maxant

About the Item

This set is a particularly fine example of this sort mantle ornament; The clock, surmounted by a Cupid with bow and arrow, is flanked by a pair of Campana shaped urns. The marble is an exquisite salmon colour, (most unusual) the half fluted urns are each applied with a very crisply cast masque. The gilt bronze mounts are of unusually high quality. The Roman numerals are slightly rubbed.
