About
A stylish secessionist Industrial art iron candlestick or Chamberstick made and designed by Hugo bergère. As part of the Viennese secessionist movement the work of Hugo bergère was seen as cutting edge and was sold through a number of iconic outlets including Liberty in London during the early 20th century. This particular candlestick stands on a wide rounded domed foot with a caged stem made up of six iron rods through which the S-shaped strap handle passes. An iconic piece in style and finish, the natural untreated surface of the iron taking on an aged rusty appearance so typical of early Industrial designs. With impressed Goberg (Hugo bergere) and Geschutz mark to the base.
