About the Item

Sconce lacquered metal piece by Dantoft Kunstartikler, Denmark circa 1970s. Unique artisan work and wall candleholder in black metal with three clear glass stones. A black lacquered, welded metal piece with a fan-like shape and three polished clear glass stones placed in the center of the fan. Towards the top it ends in a ring, perfect for hanging it on the wall. Towards the bottom it ends in a shallow candleholder, suitable for a large candle up to 3" (7.5 cm) in width. The clear glass pieces are placed so the flickering candlelight is reflected and thus creating shadows along the arms of the fans. A beautiful wall sculpture that would look amazing at the end of a long hall way or a Danish Modern addition in a living space. This sconce is made by Dantoft, a company that had their heyday in the 1960s and 1970s. Dantoft designed wall sculptures in many different forms and shapes, some as candle holders and some as wall sculptures with shallow candleholder at the bottom. One theme connected all the wall sculptures; carefully arranged glass pieces - so light would be reflected in the many colorful glass pieces. This piece is in very good vintage condition with few signs of usage and age on the black metal - no chips or cracks in the glass pieces. Still bears the original Dantoft sticker underneath the shallow bowl. Please see the photos! Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective plastic cover.
