A Very Fine George III Inlaid Satinwood Tea Caddy, England Circa 1800

The finely grained & figured satinwood case edged with kingwood banding & ebony stringing, the lid opening to reveal a Honduran mahogany panel centred by a conch-shaped marquetry paterae, the interior fitted with twin canisters having partridgewood lids decorated with repeating conch shaped paterae, flanking a burr elm veneered collar intended to receive a glass mixing bowl. Retaining its functioning lock mechanism & key. In very good overall condition, retaining an old French polish and exhibiting a fine honey-coloured patina overall. The quality of materials and the construction used in making this fine Georgian tea caddy are exemplary.
