18th Century French Louis XVI Miniature Marquetry Secretaire or Desk

An exquisite 18th century French Louis XVI miniature mahogany and walnut marquetry secretaire, or scriban. Beautifully made with bold checkerboard pattern on the sides, three dovetailed drawers decorated with inlaid lily of the valley and tiny brass lion's head ring pulls. The drop leaf desk opens to reveal four small drawers. Book cabinet above with glass paned doors and interior shelf. Fine craftsmanship with dovetailed top and delicate carved trim. Glass panes replaced. . Miniature furniture was used to showcase the craftsmanship of the cabinetmaker. Perfect tabletop piece for storing treasured objects or for use as a jewelry box or men's valet. We have a large collection of miniature chests. Please refer to photos for more details.
