American Mid-Century Enamel and Silverplate Tazza Dish by Towle Silversmiths

About the Item

A stylish Mid-Century Modern enameled tazza (a shallow footed dish) from Towle Silversmiths of Newburyport, Massachusetts, circa 1955. This vintage piece is Illustrated on page 273 of Jewel Stern's publication, Modernism in American silver 20th century design. The upper surface is enamelled in a rich metallic golden bronze over a geometric linear pattern encircled by a black border. Enamelling and silver plate in very good condition, marked Towle Silversmiths / EP 5005 on base, measuring 7.63 in. Diameter x 1.5 in. Height.
