Unusual Mid-Century Stoneware Centrepiece 'Horse' Bowl by John Anderson Hoganas

About the Item

Massive and beautifully glazed stoneware bowl with 'jumping horse' centre motif executed with 'Verdigris green' glaze on a 'splatter' of red glaze. Designed by Swedish ceramist John Anderson (1899-1969) in the 1950s and manufactured by Höganas. A inserted copper 'eye' to the back allows for wall-mount as a plaque as well. Signed by artist to the back. Condition: Mint. Measurements: D 36 cm (14 inches), H 8 cm (3.2 inches).
