First we've seen Japan, a fine antique hand cast bronze round lantern with unique "champleve” enameled maple leaves - an orb with exquisite details from the Taisho period. It is one of the finest we have handled in recent years. Champleve enamels include blue, white, green, and white colors. May be suspended from its sturdy top bronze loop handle or placed on any surface on its stable tripod heavy cast feet. Hinged door allows easy access to place your favorite LED or candle inside. Handsome old patina- just the way we like to find them. The striking and well proportioned old lantern is fashioned in solid bronze as roof kasa and light chamber or base Hibukuro or kiso all with patina from good age. Notice its superior details including fine diaper surfaces between panels plus four panels of vibrant color enameled maple leaves on four sides.
