English Georgian Antique Fireplace Mantel in Statuary Marble
About the Item
A well proportioned English Georgian fireplace. The fluted frieze with center block of reclining Venus and winged Cupid, the side blockings with the Cupid playing musical instrument. The jambs with curved fluted pilasters. Moulded shelf. The ingrounds inlaid with a yellow or green marble (possibly breche benou). Early 19th century.
