Louis XV French Carved Limestone Mantel Waldorf Astoria Hotel

About the Item

Authentic French-crafted Louis XV carved limestone mantel featuring a replacement shelf as pulled out of the Waldorf Astoria. This exquisite mantel was imported from Europe and was a notable installation at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Park Avenue, New York City, during the early 1930s. The mantel showcases minor, evenly distributed chipping on its legs and shelf, contributing to its inherent character and genuine appeal, creating an antique stone aesthetic. Notably, these imperfections add to its charm rather than detract, giving it a weathered appearance. The hearth is also chipped worn due to its age.

The mantel's origins trace back to suite M of the 22nd floor, further enhancing its historical value. The original hearth accompanies the mantel, preserving its integrity. Your purchase will be accompanied by the Waldorf Astoria authenticity card, underscoring its heritage. Please note, this item is located in our Scranton, PA location.
