19th Century French Earthenware Censer or Small Stove

About the Item

Featuring a large lidded body decorated with lion heads on each corner depicted with open mouths where heat escapes. This thick glazed ceramic urns has openings on each side large enough for hands and holes to ventilate air in the sides. Several losses and old repairs with applied iron handles on each side. Beautiful and rare with a distressed craquelure finish.
