Petite Louis XVI Style Marble Fireplace Mantel
About the Item
A petite Louis XVI style fireplace in a variegated sienna marble. The shaped jambs with flutes inlaid with brass ormolu, surmounted by square ormolu paterae. The frieze with fluting, also adorned with brass ormolu throughout. Bowed, moulded shelf above, French, 19th century. An interesting marble, which is has pools of yellow and burgundy. The relatively small size makes it ideal for a bedroom, study or smaller drawing room.
