Chinese ‘Canton’ enamel zahdou or Leys jar, late 18th century, Qianlong / Jiaqing Period. The body of the jar painted with flowering prunus, and bamboo, on a gilt ‘cracked ice’ and cobalt blue ground, beneath a continuous yellow Ruyi head motif. Similar decoration to the neck, between stiff leaves. The interior turquoise. Medium: Enamel Measures: Height 9.8 cm, 3 7/8”. Width 8.8 cm, 3 3/8”. Depth 8.8 cm, 3 3/8”. Condition: Typical stress cracks to the body. Otherwise in excellent condition.
