Large Japanese Satsuma Vase

About
Beautifully detailed and hand painted Japanese Satsuma vase. The dark matte background accentuates the with vibrant gold gilding and rich colors in the painting. Some of the gilding is raised for a 3 dimensional look as well as the raised detail of the porcelain itself. There is also raised painted details in small dotting as swirls throughout the vase. See all photos for details. The bottom has a repair that was probably done to make a lamp out of the vase. Some of the gilding is worn in spots that is consistent with the age. The opening is 5.5" round. Please see the maker's mark on the bottom.
