This fabulous handbag was made by Hermes in 1945. Originally coined the Sac a Depeches - this piece was made about 12 years before Grace Kelly wore the style that we now know as the Kelly bag. Made from Hermes signature box leather in a deep brown color, this bag is lined in caramel colored goatskin and features brown stitching (most likely a custom order). The interior features one split pocket and one open pocket inside, typical of the period as Hermes did not include interior zippers on the Kelly bags until much later production years. In very good condition for its 70+ years of age, it's hard to find a bag this age and in this condition nowadays. We note a fine patina to the box leather, some fingernails scratches and scuffs (most notable to the bottom and edges) and some scratching to the gold hardware. Made from supple black box leather, this bag is lined in goatskin and features one split pocket and one open pocket inside. Note that Hermes did not include interior zippers on the Kelly bags until much later production years.
